As a Lumix owner, I would have to recommend considering also picking up the Wasabi Power Battery and Charger Kit for Panasonic Lumix. The camera, as it comes, only charges via USB cord. In my opinion a standalone charger and extra batteries are key. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 and the Canon PowerShot SX200 IS are two of the hottest compact cameras from like two years ago. They both were referred to as "super-zooms". The Lumix has intelligent auto (”iA”) and the Canon has clever technology “i-Contrast”, both offer great technology, for me personally I would prefer the Lumix if it were a newer model, but I'm looking for an inexpensive secondary camera for my ladyfriend and I think she would appreciate the the ability to shoot in RAW and the functionality of the manual settings of the Canon.
